Biography

My name is Roxanne McDonald Robinson.  I grew up in Irving Texas, and received a Bachelor of Arts from North Texas State University in 1978. I graduated through the Honors Program.  I attended and graduated from Texas Tech School of Law in 1981, and have been licensed by the State Bar of Texas and practicing law since October 1981.  

In Law School, I was a member of the Board of Barristers and Chairwoman of the Phi Alpha Delta Drug Laws Lecture Program.  I participated in the Moot Court and Mock Trial competitions.  I was also a member of the Law Caucus, and the Student Bar Association.

Fall 1979- June 1980:  Interned with attorney Robert Kiser of Lubbock, TX 

June 1980- July 1981 : Lubbock Criminal District Attorney's Office (John Monteford D.A.)
- Conducted legal research for trial attorneys
- Second Chair for all Class C misdemeanor prosecutions in the Municipal Court
- Drafted and compiled Appellate Briefs

August 1981- June 1982:  Assistant City Attorney, Amarillo, Texas
- Prosecuted all Class C misdemeanor offenses in the Municipal Court

July 1982- June 1985:  Deaf Smith County Criminal District Attorney's Office, Hereford, Texas
- for the first 18 months I was the misdemeanor prosecutor in charge of all misdemeanor cases. 
-the final 18 months I was the First Assistant for all felony trials, grand jury presentations, appellate briefs, search warrant preparations, supervised the attorney in charge of misdemeanor prosecutions.

July 1985- November 1985: Assistant District Attorney, Dallas County, Texas

November 1985-January 1991: Assistant District Attorney, Tarrant County, Texas
- Prosecuted Class A and B Misdemeanor offenses in the District Court
- Beginning Spring 1986 Prosecuted Felony offenses in the District Court

January 1991- November 1997: Private practice, Fort Worth, Texas

November 1997- May 2001: Public Defender, 213th District Court, Tarrant County, Texas
